Why
Hungary? |
|
Hungary as a MICE destination is promoted officially for its values of charm, hospitality, humour, and above all, zest for life. Some mixture. There has been a blending of cultures over the centuries, but memorable characteristics today include continuing folk traditions; a celebrated cuisine (and Tokaj wine); and a unique language. There is a distinct contrast to the east of the country and the influences of the Orient, with a stronger identification with Europe to the west.
Special aspects of the country include the UNESCO-designation of Budapest as a World Heritage Site (‘the Pearl of the Danube’); the hundreds of healing thermal springs; and the adventure options centred on Lake Balaton. Add to this the romantic associations of the River Danube, the cultural sites of the two sides of Budapest (Buda and Pest – among them over 200 museums and gardens), and not least, the state-of-the-art facilities and professionalism of the business tourism sector. A menu of meetings and incentive travel delights would include also the Eger-Tokaj wine region, the ‘Puszta’ (prairie) country, the historic towns of Pannonia, and the two dozen resorts that line 77km-long Lake Balaton.
Reach this ‘heart of Europe’ country using international flights and train services into Budapest. Trams, heritage trains, river boats, and hot-air balloons can then take delegates so much further ….
